an endless spiral
spinning infinitely
the head is heavy
yet open and expansive
vast and unforgiving
our bones ruins
aged in dust
and worn by time
collapsing and threadbare
woven and wielded
throat adorn
the skull is a cavern
our eyes caves
a passage
a sacrament
to the frail
and splintered
etched in cedar
rising with the smoke
and fluttering like ash
descending
the skull is a cavern
our eyes caves
remnants picked
succumb and undone
by the Vulture
flesh ripped
pecked and torn
scathed along the bone
clenched in the talons
devoured and ingested
in the belly of the feathered
released
and consumed
by the ground
to the seed
buried in Earth
and rooted in umber
spread beneath
where feet travel
and mouths speak
a mantra that sings
and rings down the holler
where trees ascend
and limbs extend
reaching to realign
from where you came
and where you will go
down a river of stars
following the estuary
a delta
a sacred branch
the angles of a pyramid
withered and empty
lush like the Euphrates
floating a flume
a lotus reborn
renewed
and plucked from the plume
mirrored and reflective
an image
vibrating
undulating and oscillating
floating adrift
in a hidden tomb
cloaked in aether
the skull is a cavern
our eyes caves
